Resize a photo to 200 × 200 pixels

Make a small square photo of exactly 200 x 200 pixels for a visa form or a profile page. Pick what fills the square, and add a KB limit. Free, no upload.

Before you start

A small square of 200 × 200 pixels is asked for on some visa forms and profile pages. On SafeResize, the Saudi Arabia Tourist e-Visa photo must be exactly 200 × 200 pixels and 5 KB to 100 KB, and 200 × 200 is the smallest square the India OCI card photo allows.

The tool below opens with 200 × 200 pixels filled in. Most photos are not square, so you choose: "Fill the frame" cuts off the edges, and "Show all of it" keeps the whole photo and adds white edges. Nothing is stretched.

Questions and answers

Will a 200 × 200 photo look sharp?

On a form or a profile page, yes, because it is shown small. It is not meant for printing: at 300 DPI it would print only 17 mm (0.67 inch) wide.

How big is a 200 × 200 JPG in KB?

Small. It has only 40,000 pixels, so even at a high JPG quality the file is usually well under 100 KB. The result page shows the exact size.

What if the form wants 200 × 200 and a minimum in KB?

This tool sets a maximum only. Make the photo 200 × 200 here first. Then open that file in Make a photo smaller and type the minimum in "Must be at least" under "More options". Its width and height stay the same.
