Make a signature between 20 KB and 50 KB

Make a clean signature JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB from a phone photo of your signature on paper. White background, exact pixels if needed. Free and private.

Before you start

Some forms ask for a larger signature file: at least 20 KB and at most 50 KB. The same range turns up for photos too, so check which file the rule is for.

This page opens Clean up a signature with a white background and 20 KB to 50 KB already filled in. Add a photo of your signature on paper, adjust the lines, and press "Save my signature". The result page shows the size and whether it is inside the range.

Tips

A checklist for a signature upload

  1. Write down the rule: the file type (usually JPG), the KB range, and the pixels if there are any.
  2. Sign three or four times on plain white paper and pick the best one. Press firmly: thin, pale lines break up in a small file.
  3. Take the photo from straight above, in daylight, with the whole signature in view and no shadow on it.
  4. In the tool, move the Lines slider until the strokes look like your pen, and keep the white background.
  5. Check the result page. It shows the size and, if you typed them, the pixels. Both should match the form before you download.

Questions and answers

What is 20 KB to 50 KB in bytes?

SafeResize makes the file at least 20,480 bytes and under 50,000 bytes, so it passes whether a website counts 1,000 or 1,024 bytes to a KB.

Why was my signature topped up?

A clean signature is mostly white, and white takes very little space in a JPG. If the file is under 20 KB, SafeResize adds a hidden note to reach it. The picture itself is not changed.

Black or blue ink?

Use what the form asks for. Under "Ink colour", choose Black or Blue, and the tool makes your strokes that colour.
