You do not need a scanner or an app. Open this page on your phone, press "Use the camera" and point it at the page. A live outline shows the page the camera has found. It turns green when it thinks it has found the page, so still check each page. Tap the round button to take the photo, then take the next page.
Press Done when you have every page. Each one is straightened and cleaned up, and you check them before the PDF is made. The rear camera opens first, and where the phone has a torch you get a button for it. If the camera is blocked, you can choose photos you took earlier.
No. The live view is only shown on your screen. It is not recorded and not sent anywhere, and the photos you take stay on your device. The camera turns off when you press Done or Close, when you leave the page, and if you switch to another tab for a while.
The camera needs a secure page (an address that starts with https), a browser that allows it, and your permission. If you tapped Block earlier, tap the camera or lock icon next to the web address, allow the camera, then press Try again. Or take the photos with your phone's own camera app and add them with "Choose photos".
