Before you start

Many application portals accept documents of up to 100 KB each. A phone scan of one page is often 1 to 3 MB, so it has to shrink by 90% or more to fit.

This page opens the PDF tool with 100 KB already filled in. Add your PDF, check the preview, and press "Make it this size". The file you download is just under 100 KB, counted either way (100,000 or 102,400 bytes).

Tips

One or two pages fit comfortably. For longer documents, tick "Black & white": text stays sharp and the file gets much smaller.
Upload only the pages the form asks for. Every extra page takes space from the others.
Scanning a paper document? 150 to 200 DPI is plenty. Higher settings make a bigger file that then has to shrink further.

Questions and answers

Will the text still be readable at 100 KB?

For one to three pages, usually yes. SafeResize turns each page into a picture and lowers the sharpness only as far as it has to. You see the result before you download it.

Can I still select or search the text afterwards?

No. The pages become pictures, which is what makes such a small file possible. Keep your original PDF for everything else.
